TVS Launching a Brand New Model This Month?

TVS is looking to add a new model to its already successful line of gearless scooters. Just recently, the TVS Jupiter became the fastest scooter in India to cross the 100,000 unit sales mark as the bike variant hit 2.5 million sales in its first five years in the market. Moreover, the last five lakh units were sold in just ten months. Currently, TVS Jupiter is the biggest rival to the popular Honda Activa.

Why people love the TVS Jupiter scooter

The demand for bikes in India has gradually soared over the past decade as more people, especially in the urban cities lean towards two-wheelers as their primary mode of transport. In the rural areas also, newer bike buyers are turning towards gearless scooters as a preferred way of commuting.

While Honda Activa is undoubted the king of scooters in the region, Jupiter does not fall far behind – in any case, it is quickly gaining ground and with good reason. According to the J.D Power 2018 study, the TVS Jupiter is the most appealing executive scooter. The Jupiter has become a likable brand in India not only for its aesthetical appeal but also for providing a superior travel quality regarding convenience, comfort, fuel efficiency and space.

Diving into the 125cc segment

The four TVS Jupiter variants that are: Standard, ZX, ZX Disc and Classic Edition have been performing excellently in the 100-110 cc segments and is projected to continue increasing their sales volume for the next year. But, according to sources, it seems that TVS Jupiter is looking to dive into the 125cc range following the success of previously launched NTorq from TVS.

What is yet to be confirmed, however, is the advancements that the new Jupiter 125 will feature. Currently, the 109.7cc Jupiter variants have a CVT transmission, producing decent power and torque of 7.88 php and 8 Nm respectively.

The current Jupiter also features external fuel fill, twin pilot lamps, pass by switch, low fuel warning light, secure center stand and much more.

That said, it is expected that the new Jupiter model will improve on these features and will probably include the new digital console design with exclusive SmartXonnect Bluetooth feature to connect and charge your mobile devices on the go.

While the new Jupiter 125 scooter will undoubtedly be premium model, it is likely to go for an affordable price rate considering its main rivals, the Suzuki Burgman Street, Piaggio Vespa 125 and Aprilia SR125 all are within the Rs. 70,000 price range.

While the design and features are all speculations at the moment, one thing for sure is that TVS Jupiter brand lovers can expect an advanced and sturdy 125cc engine powered scooter with all the functionality and convenience that Jupiter is known for and loved.

If you are looking for a new bike, either as your first motorcycle or an upgrade, the TVS Jupiter 125 may be the premium bike that fits your needs. Stay tuned for more details and updates on the new TVS Jupiter launch.
